Valkyrie

€550 edition of 20

50cm x 70cm, Landscape, Medium, etching/carborundum, 2007

In this image, Valkyrie, we are presented with a monumental structure acting as a barrier. This structure represents a separation of two different worlds. It is in fact one of those plastic road barriers used for traffic control or the safe separation of heavy construction works and the general public. Superimposed on this is an abstract pattern, organic in form, threatening and chaotic in nature and perhaps an omen of potential danger. This Valkyrie seems to be ever present.
