69cm X 99cm, Landscape, Medium, Uncategorized, etching/carborundum/screenprint, 2006

The German concept of heimat is one that relates the individual to their ancestry, community and the traditions of that community. Generally bound by birth and childhood, local dialects and experiences, one also can form a heimat by the acquired affinity of adopting a new homeland. A sense of heimat can be an important ingredient in the integrity of a work of art; it serves to be a powerful root of inspiration.
