69cm X 99cm, Landscape, Large, etching/carborundum, 2016

Coupeur (cutter): An implement intuitively designed to efficiently reap a harvest, effectively to gain as much yield as possible; the end result of cultivating the land. Often part of the bounty of an archeological dig, implements such as these tell a story of the past. Sometimes used as metaphor for revolutionary change, the aggressive action of the cutter is all too often a part of our history.
